ECKART Marks 150 Years in Effect Pigments

ECKART is marking its 150th anniversary, tracing its development from a small German gold-beating workshop to an international effect-pigment manufacturer.
Founded in Fürth in 1876, the company expanded from metallic pigments into a broader portfolio of metallic and pearlescent technologies used in coatings, plastics, printing inks and other applications. It also develops metal powders for additive manufacturing.
ECKART said current investments are focused on resource-efficient production, water-based technologies and continued development of metallic and pearlescent pigments as customer and industry requirements change.
“ECKART has repeatedly reinvented itself without losing sight of its roots,” said Andreas Gipp, managing director of ECKART Europe. “Our success has always been based on our ability to adapt, drive innovation and respond to new challenges.”
The ALTANA company supplies effect pigments in powder, paste and pellet forms, as well as concentrates, dispersions and printing inks, with products serving coatings and printing applications among other markets.
