CPI recognizes individuals who demonstrate leadership and contribute to the advancement of the polyurethane industry.

Reinstadtler was honored for his longstanding involvement in CPI's Professional Development Program and his years of service as an instructor for polyurethane coatings and elastomers courses.

His career spans coatings, sealants, elastomers and microcellular foams.

Throughout his career, Reinstadtler has worked to connect technical developments in polyurethane chemistry with commercial applications and professional education.

"One of the most rewarding feelings is when they approach you years later and tell you they remembered something from your training and that it made a difference in their job and their research," Reinstadtler said of professionals he has taught.

Reinstadtler also participates in community activities through Covestro's Brighter Communities program, including STEM education, fundraising and volunteer initiatives.

"Steven has been a part of the fabric of Covestro for 38 years, and during that time he has shown an unmatched commitment to educating and sharing the benefits of polyurethane-based chemistry," said Jack O'Malley, senior country representative for coatings and adhesives North America at Covestro.

Covestro supplies polyurethane and other polymer materials used across coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers markets.

Technical education is essential to the continued development of polyurethane coatings. Reinstadtler's work has helped professionals understand polyurethane chemistry and its application across coatings and CASE markets.
