Florida Tank Wins Tnemec's 2026 Tank of the Year

Tnemec Co. has named a water tank in Fort Pierce, Florida, the winner of its 2026 Tank of the Year competition.
Located at Jaycee Park, the ground storage tank features a mural centered on Florida's coastal environment. Sea turtles, dolphins, manatees, pelicans and tropical fish cover the structure, which is owned by Fort Pierce Utilities Authority.

TnemecArtist Christian Stanley of C. Stanley Creative designed the mural. Tnemec said the project uses its Series 1026 Enduratone coating system.
The announcement marks the 20th anniversary of the Tank of the Year program. Since 2006, the competition has recognized water-storage projects that use Tnemec coatings and combine infrastructure protection with design and community identity.
Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, earned the 2026 People's Choice award following public voting. Ten other projects joined Fort Pierce and Detroit Lakes in the Top 12, with finalists located in Wyoming, Washington, South Carolina, Louisiana, Iowa, Michigan, Alabama and North Carolina.
TnemecThe final announcement completes a contest PCI began following when public voting opened earlier this month.
Water tanks put protective coatings in one of their most visible infrastructure applications. This year's results update PCI's earlier coverage of the 2026 Tank of the Year competition and show how coating performance and public-facing design can intersect.
