The Sheboygan Paint Co., Sheboygan, Wis., board of directors announced several management changes. Brock L. Brownrigg has been named CEO of the company and will direct strategic operations of all corporate entities. He has been with the company for 26 years, serving as president for the past five. Charles Malingowski, vice president and general manager, has been named president of the company. Malingowski has been with the company for nine years. Richard Klimpel, vice president of manufacturing, has been named vice president of operations. Dr. Klimpel joined the firm in 2001.

President and CEO, John Gaither, Reichhold, Inc., Research Triangle Park, N.C., announced the appointment of two senior management executives for the company. Rodney Biddle has been promoted to senior vice president, global coatings, and Bill Branson has been appointed senior vice president, operations and supply chain.

Christiane Hackl has been appointed industry manager, Epoxy and Polyurea Products, for BASF's Intermediates business in North America. In her new role, Hackl is responsible for marketing the division's amine intermediates in the epoxy and polyurea markets.

Walsh & Associates, Inc., St. Louis, has named Steven R. Harp sales representative for the company's sales region expansion in the Great Lakes and surrounding region. Harp has more than 20 years' experience in sales, sales management and marketing in the ink, packaging and allied chemical industries.

Dow Emulsion Polymers, Midland, Mich., has named Jonathan Mason to the role of Paper Technical Service and Development (TS&D) leader in North America. Mason is currently the senior TS&D leader for carpet in North America.

Malvern Instruments, Southborough, Mass., continues the expansion of its rheology team with the appointment of Fred Mazzeo, Ph.D., to the position of product manager.

Sun Chemical, Parsippany, N.J., announced that Michael S. Murphy has resigned as president of its North American Inks Division, which spans the United States, Canada and Mexico. Wes Lucas, chairman, president and CEO of Sun Chemical, will assume primary-operations responsibility until a new North American Inks president is named.

Degussa Corp., Parsippany, N.J., has appointed John Rolando president and CEO of Rohm America LLC, part of Degussa's Specialty Polymers Division. He succeeds Rodger Cram, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Following an outstanding career spanning 32 years with Akzo Nobel and having served on the board for 12 years, Rudy van der Meer (60) will retire on May 1, 2005. Van der Meer joined the board in 1993 with the responsibility for Chemicals. After integrating the two Akzo chemical divisions and subsequently the acquired chemical activities of Nobel Industries, he extended Chemicals' leading positions in selected segments of specification, functional and specialty chemicals. In 2000, he assumed responsibility for Coatings and successfully enhanced Akzo Nobel's global Coatings leadership position.

Reichhold, Inc., Research Triangle Park, N.C., has promoted Randy Vasseur to sales director for North American coatings. In this role, Vasseur will be responsible for managing the sales efforts of the coatings sales force in the United States and Canada, including regional sales representatives, national account managers and the distribution channel manager.
