Joseph V. Koleske has received the ASTM Charles B. Dudley Medal Award for his work in editing the Paint and Coating Testing Manual, Fourteenth Edition of the Gardner-Sward Handbook.

WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Joseph V. Koleske, a senior consultant with Consolidated Research and a contributing editor of PCI magazine, has received the ASTM Charles B. Dudley Medal Award for his work in editing the Paint and Coating Testing Manual, Fourteenth Edition of the Gardner-Sward Handbook. The award was presented at a meeting of ASTM Committee D01 on Paint and Related Coatings and Materials.

The Gardner-Sward Handbook is considered the comprehensive reference work of its type, ASTM said.

Koleske is the author of articles, books and other materials related to polymers and coatings, and holds U.S. patents on product developments. He held various positions during a 30-year career with Union Carbide Corp., most recently as Corporate Research fellow. He is the author of a comprehensive review of coatings-technology developments during the 20th century, “A Century of Paint,” which was published in PCI’s January 2000 edition.
