Vopak Completes Ellis & Everard Purchase
Royal Vopak has completed the acquisition of Ellis & Everard of the United Kingdom.
ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands — Royal Vopak, a major global chemical-distribution group based in The Netherlands, has completed the acquisition of Ellis & Everard of the United Kingdom, an international distributor of chemicals and polymers that operates 80 sites in Europe and the United States.

Royal Vopak said North American units of the two companies would be changed to reflect the Vopak name; those units include Vopak’s Van Waters & Rogers distribution business, based in Kirkland, WA. In North America, Ellis & Everard’s business units include Mozel Inc., Pioneer Chemicals, Performance Polymers, the Truesdale Co., and several others.
In the United Kingdom, Vopak’s chemical-distribution operations, which currently carry the Univar name, will adopt the Ellis & Everard name. All of Vopak’s chemical-distribution units in Europe will adopt the Vopak name by the end of 2002, the company said.
