The following appointments were made recently.

Buckman Laboratories, Memphis, Tenn., has promoted three people to critical offices for the company. Michael R. Anstey, who was formerly the vice president of research and development, has been promoted to general manager of Buckman's European operations, headquartered in Ghent, Belgium.

Alexandre Mesquita, formerly the general manager in Europe, has accepted the position of director of global technologies at the company's international headquarters in Memphis.

Jim Fitzhenry, formerly the director of technical services at Buckman, will take on his new responsibilities as the vice president of research and development, also in Memphis.

Alan L. Bethel, sales manager of Eliokem, retired in January after 43 years with the company. Eliokem, based in Akron, Ohio, is the former Specialty Chemicals Division of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.

The Flood Company, Hudson, Ohio, has named Christopher Burdette product-training manager.

Terry Caloghiris, vice president and general manager - Performance Coatings Transformation, has succeeded retiring Edward J. Donnelly as group vice president - DuPont Coatings & Color Technologies. Donnelly has transitioned to a part-time position at DuPont as chairman and CEO of the NPCA.

Two new chemists join Michelman, Cincinnati. Talia Collins has assumed the position of senior research chemist responsible for New Business Development, and Michelle Nilsen has assumed the position of senior research chemist responsible for Performance Additives.

Dorsett & Jackson, Los Angeles, a leading specialty distributor of raw materials on the West Coast, announced that Tony DiGiacomo, Steve Winder and Carl Hassis have been promoted to president, corporate vice president and vice president of technology, respectively. As president, DiGiacomo will lead a staff of 30 people, 18 of which are directly involved with customer contact and sales.

Timothy A. Knight, president - Global Group, The Sherwin-Williams Company, Cleveland, has announced that George Diver has been promoted to vice president of Marketing for the Chemical Coatings Division.

The board of directors of The Rohm and Haas Co., Philadelphia, elected Michael G. Hamilton as vice president. Hamilton was recently named business unit director for the global Powder Coatings business.

Thomas Hoenle has been named business director for BASF's Automotive OEM Coatings Tier Accounts in North America, headquartered in Southfield, Mich. Michael Pcolinski has been named business manager for BASF's Industrial Coatings Solutions business unit in North America, headquartered in Southfield, Mich. Sun Chemical Performance Pigments, Cincinnati, reports that Peter Krummeck has joined the organization as director of sales, International. Krummeck will be based in Wavre, Belgium, in the Performance Pigments international operations headquarters and sales office.

President Mike Klein of Dominion Colour Corp. has appointed Steve MacFarlane as president of DCC's subsidiary, A.R. Monteith Corp., Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Klein will relinquish his title of president and take on the responsibility of chairman for Monteith.

Malvern Instruments has announced two new appointments to its U.S. Process Systems team. Matt Malfa and Alon Vaisman will work as project engineers, primarily supporting the installation and commissioning of new systems across North America.

National Coatings Corporation (NCC), manufacturer of durable, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly weatherproofing materials, has appointed Rene Martinez as a sales representative for the Northern Counties of Southern California.

Fitz Chem Corp., Itasca, Ill., a leading Midwest distributor/sales agent of raw materials, has named Michael L. Olsen technical industry manager for the Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin territories. Fitz Chem has also placed Scott Hendrickson in a new position as vice president of sales and marketing.
