The following companies announced appointements this month.

Kevin Coleman
  • CHEMCENTRAL, Bedford Park, Ill., has elected Gary E. Anderson to the company's board of directors. Anderson, retired chairman of the board of Dow Corning Corp., served the company for 37 years in management positions of increasing responsibility.

  • RAHN, Zurich, Switzerland, has introduced two technical key-account management managers: John Braddock for the United States and Reto Weder for Europe.

  • International Paint LLC, Houston, a division of Akzo Nobel, has hired Kevin Coleman as regional sales manager for protective coatings in the Southeast Region of the United States.

  • Senior management changes have been announced at Baxenden Chemicals, Accrington, UK. Tim Hughes has been appointed managing director, following the retirement of Norman Gee. A group structure also has been put in place integrating the two divisions at Accrington and Droitwich, UK. John Simpson has been named group commercial manager, John Lord has been appointed group operations manager and Richard Jones takes up the reins as group technical manager. Rick Spencer will continue as group commercial development manager. In addition, Rob Lomax will move to the new role of business development manager.

  • The Flood Company, Hudson, Ohio, has named Gerald H. Huston sales manager, property management, for the Washington and Baltimore markets.

  • Raimar Jahn has assumed responsibility for BASF's Coatings Operating Division, Münster, Germany. In addition, Jahn will become CEO of BASF Coatings AG. In both positions, Jahn will succeed Jean-Pierre Monteny, who retired in June.

  • Fitz Chem Corp., Itasca, Ill., has hired Preethi Kundoor as systems application specialist. Kundoor has extensive experience with Oracle implementation, training and support.



    Ken Langhorn
  • Bogard Lagman, executive vice president, Charles Ross and Son Co., Hauppauge, N.Y., has promoted Ken Langhorn to technical director. He is now responsible for the daily operations of the company's Test & Development Center as well as the ongoing development of new products and technology.

  • Reichhold, Inc., Research Triangle Park, N.C., has appointed Edward R. Leydon to the position of Reichhold general counsel. Leydon will serve as Reichhold's chief legal officer.

  • Sartomer Company, Exton, Pa., has appointed Timothy R. Lineberry plant manager of Sartomer's Chatham, Va., facility. He is responsible for all plant operations and reports directly to Larry Athens, vice president of manufacturing.

  • Applied Manufacturing Technologies, Inc., Orion, Mich., has appointed Chris Lohr sales manager for the Midwest and Southeast regions.

  • PPG Industries, Pittsburgh, has named Tom Mauck general manager of protective and marine coatings. He will report to Rich Alexander, senior vice president, Coatings. Stephen Lampe, business controller, Coatings, will replace Mauck as PPG's director of raw materials purchasing.

  • Fusion UV Systems, Inc., Gaithersburg, Md., recently appointed Attila Nagy as sales manager for Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. He will be based in Kol

    Luc Vanderstappen
  • Michelman, Cincinnati, announced that Luc Vanderstappen has joined the company as senior account manager. He will be handling all accounts in Benelux and Scandinavia, as well as select custom-formulating accounts.

  • Alan Whetten has been named director of research and development for ANGUS Chemical Company, Buffalo Grove, Ill., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company. Whetten's responsibilities include running the global ANGUS R&D and technical service organizations.
