AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands - AkzoNobel has published its 2008 Report online, which is the first time the company has combined its annual and sustainability reports into a single publication. The printed version will be available March 18, 2009.

Entitled “Delivering Tomorrow's Answers Today,” the 2008 Report gives full details of the company's financial and sustainability performance, as well as highlighting AkzoNobel's ongoing efforts in the field of product innovation.

"With sustainability very much embedded in our organization, and an inherent part of the way we operate and develop our growing portfolio of eco-premium products, it seemed only natural to report on our sustainability and financial performance in an integrated way," explained AkzoNobel CEO Hans Wijers.

"Combining the two reports into one publication also underlines how seriously we take our commitment to sustainable operations, highlighted by the company again being ranked as one of the leading performers on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) for 2008."

Wijers added that, for the first time ever, the company's position on the influential DJSI listing will have an impact on the long-term incentives for the company's Board of Management and other senior executives. Subject to shareholder approval, the proposed amendment to the Remuneration Policy will involve the company's annual ranking being used as one of the factors that determines the number of shares granted as part of AkzoNobel's performance share plan.
