DALLAS, TX - Celanese Emulsion Polymers has launched the TufCOR™ brand of emulsion polymers for the building materials market. The TufCOR product line is based on a range of chemistries including vinyl acetate/ethylene (VAE), polyvinyl acetate homopolymers and acrylic polymers for applications that include tape-joint and joint compounds, caulks and sealants, mastics, cement bonding and liquid admixtures, spackling compounds and more. These emulsions have been specifically designed to meet the performance requirements of modern construction environments, representing optimum adhesive solutions for joining a wide array of substrates that bond under a broad range of environmental conditions. The TufCOR brand will encompass previously marketed Celanese emulsions for construction products as well as new technology.
According to David Trueba, Marketing Manager for adhesives and building materials for Celanese Emulsion Polymers, the TufCOR brand is a sign of Celanese’s commitment to building materials manufacturers and underscores its leadership in this area for decades. “Celanese has been providing technology formulated into some of the best building products on the market for decades. Today, we recognize the significant opportunity these products have in the changing landscape of building construction, as the world focuses more on environmental and efficiency issues such as using caulks to reduce energy usage in air conditioning or heating,” Trueba said. “The name TufCOR was chosen for our emulsions line in this market because it reflects the strength and durability that is sought in building products. In most of our customer’s products, the emulsion is at the very core of the formulation and is critical to their functional properties. When our customers see or use a TufCOR emulsion product, they know that they are getting the very best technology that has been specifically designed to meet the performance requirements of their building materials’ application.”
