CLEVELAND – William “Doni” Riddle, of the Sherwin-Williams Co., was awarded the John D. Keane Award of Merit by the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC). The award recognizes outstanding leadership and significant contributions to the development of the protective coatings industry and SSPC.

"The John D. Keane award is one of the most prestigious recognitions that SSPC Board of Governors presents, and it is not given every year,” said Bill Shoup, SSPC’s Executive Director. “It is awarded to those individuals who have shown dedication to SSPC and the coatings industry in general. Doni Riddle has contributed for many years and in many ways, not only as a member of the Board of Governors and our Association President, but also in promoting the organization’s growth and recognition. He continues to do this on a regular basis by sharing his knowledge of coatings and the coatings market to expand and make coatings the method of choice for corrosion control."

The honor was recently awarded at SSPC’s annual event in San Antonio, TX. Riddle is on the Board of Directors for the International Association Of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Foundation Board, and he has more than three decades of technical service in the coatings business. He has been with the Sherwin-Williams Co. for 24 years. Riddle, Vice President of Global Strategic Accounts for the Protective and Marine Coatings Division, is responsible for global sales within the company’s Global Finishes Group.
