Reaching new highs in applied hiding: the role of rheology and the impact of high-performance HEURs
Date: Tuesday, March 12 2014
Time: 11:00 AM ET (Convert to your timezone)
Duration: 60 minutes, including LIVE Q&A
When it comes to creating an ideal rheology package, striking an acceptable balance between sag resistance and flow is an ongoing formulator challenge: optimizing one property means sacrificing the other to some degree. Dow rheology experts Tara Conley and Carmen Rodriguez will present new high-performance HEUR chemistry that optimizes rheology at both ends of the shear spectrum. They will also present data and show visuals that quantitatively rate the surface smoothness of applied films and correlate a rise in sag-flow balance with a rise in the applied hiding of white and pastel paint films. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.
Attendees will learn:
- How to raise sag resistance and flow with high-performance HEUR technology
- How pattern uniformity of roller-applied film can be quantitatively rated with analytical and imagery tools developed by Dow
- How pattern uniformity correlates with applied hiding in white and pastel paint formulations
- How optimization of sag resistance and flow can markedly improve applied hiding in white and pastel paint formulations
- How these findings can impact your brand’s rating and differentiation
