Bodo Möller Chemie is expanding its portfolio in the CASE sector (coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers) through a collaboration with CABB, a dianhydride specialist. The partnership will expand Bodo Möller Chemie’s European business with specialty dianhydrides. The CABB Group develops and manufactures high-performance dianhydrides, active ingredients and superior intermediate goods.

CABB specializes in manufacturing highly complex, client-specific molecules for leading companies, especially in the fields of crop science, life science and performance materials. Dianhydrides such as BTDA (3,3',4,4'-Benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride) are used as hardeners (curing agents) for epoxy resins or as comonomers for polyimides to produce polymers with exceptional thermo-mechanical and electrical insulation properties. CABB’s special dianhydrides are used in products such as adhesives, coatings, including powder coatings, composites, casting materials, and dielectric films for electronic applications.

“CABB is the only manufacturer worldwide which produces this molecule on an industrial scale. Bodo Möller Chemie is thus also the only sales channel for the molecule in Europe,” said Volker Oehl, director for business development at Bodo Möller Chemie.

“As a result of the partnership with Bodo Möller Chemie, our clients in Europe will benefit from extensive know-how and insightful technical consultations,” said Christian Schulz, Ph.D., head of sales for specialty and performance chemicals at CABB.
