PPG Reports Progress Toward 2030 Sustainability Goals in Latest Update

PPG announced continued advancements toward its 2030 sustainability goals, as detailed in the company’s 2024 Sustainability Report. The report highlights efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase the sale of sustainably advantaged products.
In 2024, 41% of PPG’s sales came from sustainably advantaged products, including the PPG Enviro-Prime® EPIC200X solution, which helped a customer reduce CO₂ emissions by 3,500 metric tons annually. The company also reported an 18% reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions, supported by renewable energy projects such as a solar installation at its Caivano, Italy site.
Other highlights include a 6% reduction in scope 3 emissions across its value chain, 48% of process waste being reused, recycled or recovered, and a 28% reduction in water intensity at priority sites in water-stressed regions. Additionally, 98% of PPG’s key suppliers were assessed on sustainability and social responsibility criteria.
Since 2015, PPG has invested $16.4 million in its Colorful Communities® initiative, exceeding its 2030 funding commitment.
