IMCD Expands Technical Capabilities at German Innovation Hub

IMCD Group has relocated and modernized its Coatings & Construction and Home Care I&I application laboratories at BioCampus Cologne in Germany.
The expanded technical hub is designed to provide formulation support, application testing, technical services and training while creating additional space for collaboration with customers and suppliers.
IMCD’s Coatings & Construction Application Laboratory was established in Cologne in 2008. It is part of a global network of 14 laboratories supported by more than 50 technical experts.
The laboratory serves customers in decorative paints, industrial coatings, construction materials, adhesives, printing inks, textiles and paper products. IMCD said the expanded capacity and upgraded technical capabilities will help its teams support development projects more efficiently and shorten time to market.
“The modern laboratory space, enhanced technical capabilities and ample room for collaboration enable us to work even more closely with our customers, suppliers and business partners to develop tailored solutions,” said Jan Schmitter, technical manager for coatings at IMCD.
The company also expanded its Home Care I&I laboratory with dedicated areas for laundry care, dishwashing, surface cleaning, car care and air care. That laboratory serves as IMCD’s regional technical center for Home Care I&I in Europe.
IMCD selected BioCampus Cologne because of its research and industry network, modern infrastructure and location within Germany’s Rhineland metropolitan region. The company operates more than 80 application laboratories across 60 countries.
