Perstorp Raises Global Oxo Chemical and Plasticizer Prices

Perstorp has announced global price increases for a range of oxo chemicals and plasticizers, effective immediately or as existing contracts allow.

The supplier attributed the adjustments to sharply higher raw-material and energy costs associated with the continuing conflict in the Middle East.

The increases apply to 2-ethylhexanoic acid, 2-ethylhexanol, 2-propylheptanol, n-butyraldehyde, isobutyraldehyde, Emoltene 100, Emoltene 3GO, propionic acid, propionaldehyde, n-butyric acid, n-valeric acid and isononanoic acid.

European increases range from €50 to €180 per metric ton. U.S. increases reach as high as $0.05 per pound for selected products, while increases for the rest of the world range from $120 to $210 per metric ton.

Several of the affected materials are used as intermediates, solvents, additives or formulation inputs across coatings, alkyds, polyesters, plasticizers and other CASE markets.
