Oxea Raises Prices Across Two Chemical Portfolios

Oxea announced two additional sets of price increases for oxo intermediates, carboxylic acids and specialty esters, citing continued pressure from raw-material, energy and supply-chain costs.
The adjustments cover 12 product groups across Europe and other international markets. Both sets of increases took effect November 1, 2026, or as existing contracts permit.
The first announcement, dated October 29, covers alcohols, aldehydes, acetates and neopentyl glycol. The second, issued October 30, covers carboxylic acids and specialty esters.
Oxo Intermediate Increases
Oxea announced the following changes October 29, citing significant and sustained increases in raw-material, energy and supply-chain costs.
| Product | Europe, €/metric ton | Rest of world, $/metric ton |
|---|---|---|
| 2-Ethylhexanol | +100 | +115 |
| n-/i-Butanol | +90 | +100 |
| n-/i-Butyraldehyde | +70 | +80 |
| n-/i-Butyl acetate | +80 | Not specified |
| Neopentyl glycol (NPG), molten | +80 | +90 |
| Neopentyl glycol (NPG), 90% slurry | +80 | +90 |
The notice provides separate regional pricing for Europe and the rest of the world, excluding the North America/Mexico category where no increase was specified.
Neopentyl glycol is an important intermediate in polyester resin production, including resins used in powder and other coating systems.
Oxo alcohols, aldehydes and acetates are also used as solvents, chemical intermediates and starting materials for downstream formulated products.
Carboxylic Acid and Specialty Ester Increases
In a separate October 30 announcement, Oxea cited sustained raw-material, energy and supply-chain cost increases, along with continuing supply-and-demand volatility.
The following adjustments also took effect November 1, or as contracts allow.
| Product | Europe, €/metric ton | Rest of world, $/metric ton |
|---|---|---|
| n-Butyric acid | +70 | +80 |
| Isobutyric acid | +70 | +80 |
| 2-Ethylhexanoic acid | +100 | +115 |
| Isononanoic acid | +115 | +130 |
| OXSOFT 3G8 | +100 | +115 |
| OXFILM 351 | +100 | +115 |
The second notice likewise identifies no new North American per-pound adjustments.
Oxea manufactures oxo intermediates and performance chemicals, including alcohols, polyols, carboxylic acids, specialty esters and amines.
Its products are used across coatings, lubricants, printing inks, plastics and other formulated-material markets.
The latest actions follow several earlier supplier pricing announcements during 2026.
PCI previously reported Oxea's September price increases for acids, esters and oxo intermediates. The new notices are separate adjustments with different effective dates and regional pricing.
They also follow pricing actions by other coatings raw-material suppliers, including Eastman's recent solvent and plasticizer increases.
For coatings manufacturers, the notices provide additional information for evaluating raw-material purchasing costs, particularly for solvent systems, intermediates and polyester resin production.
The listed increases apply to the specified products and regions rather than Oxea's entire portfolio.
Oxea's latest increases add to ongoing pricing pressure affecting coatings raw materials and chemical intermediates. Follow additional supplier adjustments in PCI's Price Alerts coverage.
