 This study examined alternative routes for the production of butanol and propylene glycol. 

 Two new additives have been developed with patented applications for improving performance in solvent free, coatings. 

 A method to improve the hiding power of latex coatings by using a phosphate ester-based reactive surfactant and, thereby, reduce TiO2 usage is also discussed. 

 The carbon dioxide-based hardcoats developed in this project offer a unique balance of properties that make them viable alternatives to existing hardcoat technologies, in particular for substances such as thermoplastic polycarbonate. 

Traditional two-pack PUR technology combined with surface-modified nanosilica particles results in increased scratch and abrasion resistance in transparent, high-gloss coatings for plastics.

 The architectural design of a new amine epoxy hardener by molecular engineering has been shown to meet increasingly stringent market demands on legislation compliance, operator and environmental impact, and high productivity while showing excellent cost-performance balance of self-leveling epoxy systems. 

 VeoVa monomer enhances the performance of vinyl acetate- and acrylic-based latices, significantly upgrading key properties such as water and alkali resistance in both polymer systems. 

New products are being developed to meet the challenge of delivering low- and zero-VOC offerings, including specialty resins, coalescents/plasticizers, water-based and energy curable colorants, foam control and silicone products.
