Strong performance in the Paint Stores Group led the company's results, maintaining expectations, however the Consumer Brands Group continues to be impacted by lower DIY demand. 

The research compared the carrying capacity of PPG’s precipitated silica to maltodextrin, a common carrying and bulking agent. Results showed that the company's prodcut provided more than 40 times the carrying capacity of maltodextrin.
