2025 Coatings Sales: $30-$35 million
Induron Protective Coatings is a third-generation, family-owned manufacturing company with deep roots in Birmingham, providing products and service to regional, national and international markets. Founded in Birmingham in 1947 under the name The Industrial Paint Manufacturing Co. Inc., Induron has evolved into a protective coatings business with sales associates across the United States and an expanding product line.
Induron manufactures high-performance coatings for industrial applications, including wastewater; electrical transmission and distribution; and potable water storage, treatment and transmission industries.
Induron did not provide a separate 2025 sales figure. PCI has retained the prior $30-$35 million range as an estimate for ranking purposes.
Notes: In March, Induron announced the retirement of longtime Plant Manager Mike Nelms and named Aaron Williams plant manager following a three-month transition.
In June, Induron expanded its sales team with Glenda Curry, Texas sales and service manager, and Cody Paradis, Southeast sales and services representative.
In July, Induron launched Perma-Clean 100 Single-Leg, a 100% solids, high-build epoxy lining designed to provide thick-film barrier protection through conventional airless equipment.
In October, Induron completed a solvent tank farm upgrade at its Birmingham facility, replacing nine vertical tanks and one horizontal tank with three double-compartment horizontal tanks. The company said the project improved safety, environmental responsibility and operating efficiency.
Later in October, Induron and its products achieved Recognized Manufacturing Unit status within the Australian Paint Approval Scheme following an audit of the company’s Birmingham facilities and processes. The recognition supports the company’s work in Australia’s electrical transmission and distribution market.
