- The collaboration reflects growing investment in robotic finishing technologies aimed at improving consistency, efficiency and labor utilization in collision repair.
Surventis and painting-automation specialist NST have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to advance automated painting technologies for the automotive refinish market.
The agreement formalizes collaboration already underway between the two companies. According to NST, engineering teams have evaluated Surventis coating systems on NST robotic painting platforms, using the testing process to optimize application parameters and confirm compatibility between the materials and equipment.
The companies said experience from those evaluations, along with feedback from customer installations, will support additional technical development and future joint projects. NST also noted that several body shops, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, are already using Surventis coating systems with NST robotic painting equipment in day-to-day operations.
Surventis, the former BASF Coatings business, brings expertise in automotive OEM coatings, automotive refinish coatings and surface treatment technologies to the collaboration. NST specializes in robotic painting and automation systems for industrial and automotive finishing applications.
As labor availability, process consistency and transfer efficiency remain priorities for collision repair operations, partnerships between coating suppliers and automation providers continue to accelerate the adoption of robotic refinishing technologies.
