The new technology makes it possible to manufacture fluoropolymers having the same type of high-performance properties as those produced by conventional methods with an extremely low generation of fluorinated byproducts, without using any surfactants.
BASF’s bio-based EA is produced in Ludwigshafen using bio-ethanol exclusively as alcohol source. The chemical and technical specifications of the new bio-based product are identical with the traditional fossil-based version.
