It’s time again for PCI’s annual ranking of the top 10 global and top 25 North American paint and coatings manufacturers. The ranking is based on 2019 coatings sales. Sales of other non-coating products are not included. 2019 was a mixed bag in terms of overall coatings sales. About half of the companies ranked in the Global Top 10 reported an increase in sales, with the other half seeing a decrease. In the Top 25 North American ranking of coatings manufacturers, companies reported either an increase in sales or sales similar to last year. You can read more about this in my Viewpoint. The Global Top 10
Following is a ranking of the top 10 global coatings manufacturers in 2019. Rankings are based on 2019 coatings sales. Sales of other, non-coating products are not included.
5. RPM International Inc.
Coatings Sales: $5.6 billion for fiscal year ended May 31, 2019
8. Kansai Paint Co. Ltd.
Coatings Sales: Approx. $3.78 billion for fiscal year ended March 31, 2020
9. Asian Paints Ltd.
Coatings Sales: Approx. $2.45 billion for sales ended Dec. 31, 2019
The PCI 25
Following is a ranking of the top 25 North American coatings manufacturers in 2019. Rankings are based on 2019 coatings sales. Sales of other, non-coating products are not included.
3. RPM International Inc.
Coatings Sales: $5.6 billion for fiscal year ended May 31, 2019
6. Benjamin Moore & Co.
Coatings Sales: $828 million (as estimated on Dun & Bradstreet website)
