Through dedication and creativity, the company solves customers’ biggest challenges, collaborating closely to find the right path forward. 2025 Coatings Sales: $15.9 billion
Headquarters: Pittsburgh, PA
Chairman/CEO: Tim Knavish
In 2025, PPG's $15.9 billion in net sales included a 2% increase in organic sales due to higher sales volumes and selling prices. This above-market performance was led by sales volume growth in the Performance Coatings segment in the Aerospace Coatings, Protective and Marine Coatings, and Traffic Solutions businesses, and share gains in the Industrial Coatings segment in Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Coatings, Industrial Coatings and Packaging Coatings.
In 2025, PPG returned $1.4 billion to shareholders, including approximately $630 million in dividends and $790 million in share repurchases. The company also extended its record of paying uninterrupted annual dividends for 126 years and increasing dividends for 54 consecutive years.
PPG comprises three reportable segments:
- Performance Coatings, including aerospace, automotive refinish, protective and marine and traffic solutions. (35% of sales in 2025)
- Industrial Coatings, including OEM coatings, packaging coatings and specialty materials. (41% of sales in 2025)
- Global Architectural Coatings, now focused on regions outside of the United States and Canada. (24% of sales in 2025)
Notes: The company’s 2025 sales exclude the former U.S. and Canada architectural coatings business, which PPG sold to American Industrial Partners in December 2024 and is now reflected in PCI’s ranking through Pittsburgh Paints Co. and CIL. PPG’s remaining Global Architectural Coatings segment is focused on regions outside the United States and Canada, including Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
